Proud Universiti Brunei Darussalam Undergraduate

Summary of my 4th semester

Alhamdulilah, the time have comes, “the moment” I have been waiting for since the new journey of my uni semester start was for it to be end soon. It brings me to a good feeling of relief on things goes well will hopefully ends well too.

This semester are no doubt like any of the past semesters that I’ve been through as more pressure are been enhanced and you can personally feels the limitation of time we actually have and the use of time is at its most pontential. However, the pain and suffering (I guess we can call it suffering too haha, literally and exaggerating only) is not that I concerned, but the most important things that I have acquire during this semester is the friendship and bonding that binds us together during our work. The moment of enjoyment as finishing our work, the moment of appreciation by the tutors/lectures and friends to us are those will be remember by all time.

The most thing that I really adore about this semester are being with an empathy tutors. My personal favorite should I list for this semester are Miss Juliana Shak (English tutor), Dr. Wan Mat (Jawi), Dr. Paolo (Spanish), Cikgu Pelajaran Jasmani (Name?), Dr. Norhani, Dr. Romaizah & Miss Roslinawati (Science) and lastly Both POT lectures (Name?). These lecturers and tutors have touch my sense of motivation and self belonging to help me; helping myself to built my own self actualization. I’m positively sure, I’ll be missing them a lot (unless i’m taking spanish next semester which is with Dr Paolo that is). Missing them is not just because of their beautiful personality but because of their care wanting us to be good, to be good even to make us excellent when we are out there doing our job in future. University is a factory, and as a factory their main purpose is to create, to release, to make, to make born a talent and highly skills citizens for the country, even for the world. With that say, Universiti Brunei Darussalam is included in that context that will be credited for the rest of our life.

Besides lectures and tutors to inspires me for this fourth semester, meeting with new people is extravaganza lucky moment. I love meeting new people who are socially accepted and friendly. Its fun just to be with them laughing out loud, making fun of something. As I have mention laughing, It triggers my mind back when Miss Juliana Shak had said to me, after I said something about using funny ties, to make my peer teaching attractive and entertaining (after she address to make sure our peer teaching should be fun and entertaining). And she replied to me “Walid, Let them laugh with you, not laugh at you“. It was a moment of humor at that time, everyone were laughing.

I met a lot of new people especially during my Spanish class, as i met up with different people from different courses and faculty. Its very unexpected how we can be so supportive with each other while having fun. And I definetly will miss each one of them; because they are once a upon a time, my Spaniard class mates. Prince Malik Bolkiah, Raihan, Lim, Belle, Venessa, Anes and the three fourth year students from FOS, Iya and her frens of FBEPS, one 1st year hyper girl from FOS too were those who have made Spanish Class fun. Pelajaran Jasmani class, my life would not be so fun if Aisyah, Cecilia, Anurul and of course Alice waren’t there. Because of their present too things go wildly fun. And yes, I have fun in PJ class also because of them. Being with Diana, Rabiatul and Rina as a new comrade it did work out, and Alhamdulilah our coursework did make it to the A score. I’ve joined the UBD Student Unions, and I have also made lot of new bond, seriously, they can really work and friendly. Cepole, Liza, Zainul, Zainal, Raihan (again), Sut, Zirah and so on.

The last day of Semester

collage

My Uni day begin, plan to be with Kartika, for i need of her help on finishing my poster, just coloring some text. So I planned to meet her soon in the morning; and she text me she’ll be in her Music and Movement class. They were busy practicing their music routine for their test, and since I was with my Camera, taking photos of their gorgeous looks and style. After being bored with taking pictures, I took the initiative to finish up my poster (English presentation) there in their class, in the same time the teacher were there too.

I have to say a BIG thankx to Izyan, Mumui, Hana and Fadlina for their effort on coloring my poster. I didn’t even ask them to help me, but their generosity self-born within them made them do so. And yeah not to forget Kartika thank you for the designing materials. Thank you, I really appreciate your help guys.

Kinda pity Raihan and Lim could’nt make it for today tutorial, if not their faces would be here too. As you can see there’s Prince Malik Bolkiah with me. Then Dr. Paolo, middle left, Belle and Vanessa, then Iya and fren, and group pictures. (photos taken by Tasir)

The last two pictures are taken with Miss Juliana. Dk98 (wearing blue) is next to Miss Juliana. Kartika wearing brown. Standing back from left Diana wearing purple, then Mumui (Khairunisa), Barizah, Hana, Izyan, Rohani, And Mizah. Aisyah, Cecilia, Alice, Anurul, Hasanal, Adi farhan could not make it, wish they were there too, they make class crazy haha in good way that is.

Last but not least, although the works in this semester are so hectic, but the surrounding of it all and as a whole; is just nice. I’ll be missing this semester, Yes I will.

I really want this, GrIStuF 2008 'Mind a change?'

Essay submitted in Febuary,
Accepted and invited in late March,
The only one from Brunei. about 400+ been invited from 800+ applications,
Early April, went to HEP (UBD’s Student Union) to discuss my matter with Assistant Register,
- Good respond, although this program is not under UBD awareness; just need Faculty support.
The same month (02.04) went to Faculty and submit letter of ‘support’ same day I was busy participating Brunei First youth conference held in ICC 1-3 of April 2008.
Also in the same month (24.04) I received the official letter from Greifwalds International Festival, GrIStuF.
10 days conference, and also international culture emergent.
Till today letter from faculty not yet ready.
Is this another hope, dream and opportunity to be lost?
Last year was the KL Newspaper forum bullshit announced by PMUBD’s Publisher (2006/2007).
He told me last minute in the morning to come to UBD (now) for interview; get dressed immediately, shuffle my certificates, but then 15 minutes later, program canceled? Then I say”FUCK“. So sad. That I’ll never forget and never will I forgive. :) Just be square for the hope I rise and for the fault result I received. but thank you for the lesson tho.
So I did learn something, “never put high hope, and think for the worst that might be and will be happening” – which my dear good friend, Hamdi HT have mentioned to me quite a lot in the past. And I miss that advices.
Date of conference and student exchange will be on 13 June – 22 June 2008.
Positively I don’t have hope, but as human I still deserve to Pray for it.
I don’t mind if i don’t get this, why? Allah have better plans for me, and I’m going to be happy too since i can pick up my friends at the airport.

Struggling to finish this one and only essay | Persians Kitten for Sale on Brudirect | Farewell to Eric Case

I’m bored, every time I tend to do my work, my brain switch to its sleep mode, and eventually I took my nap. Isn’t that gifted? haha oh well hopefully i can finish this essay before on Saturday. I really need to finish all my assignments before the reading week. Tomorrow is the last day to submit my blue form; I’m left with two lecturer signature. Kinda disappointed, The lectures that I adore is teaching the courses that I dislike, and those courses that I like, technically lectures that I have no “interest” to be with. Oh well this is life, it happens. I’m just talking rubbish, just wanting to keep my blog alive.

Oyeah here’s something interesting, and yes I wish i could afford to buy it too. Persians kitten for sale on Brudirect. Cute and adorable. The only thing about Persians cats is that i may say “disturbing”, is the fact that they are so lazy, like the queen or king in the house; beside that they like to seat on the sofa, sleep, eat and drink only. Nevertheless, they are still cute and adorable and best to be kept as a pet. Seriously, if you see a Persians cat lying around the road, I’m sure the first human being to see it would take “it” as a pet. So meow for Persians cat. Heres is the advert from the Brudirect:

“two female persian kittens for sale. Pedigree (purebred) with parents import from Australia. Fully vaccine from private clinic. Price $300/ each. Contact 8728808(hp) msg only.” LINK Lastly, I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO BUY THEM!! bulih ku bayar installment kah hehe

Farewell to Eric Case, to you who don’t know whose Eric Case, well for the past 5 years his been working with google, and answering technically issue (Support tickets) especially for blogger.com. Not long ago, or yes its been long ago too I guess (haha), I’ve once a active blogger on Blogger.com; and I’m still proud to be a blogger person, under google wings. I still uses blogger main picture storage “Picasa” to upload and share pictures on this current wordpress blog platform. So during my unfortunate event while using blogger, i did submit several support (ticket), and I believe his one of them who responded sincerely and made my time at blogger better!

Back to Eric Case, he have left blogger team, and I like to say Thank you, for his effort, although I don’t know him and vice versa, but I’m sure most of bloggers user not realize that, there is a team of individual, a group of people who actually creates and delivered their ideas and time of their life, to provide us this great facilities, and I want to say, Thank you for their effort, and Eric Case is one of them.

So long, and thanks for all the zen!

kimmy caseWe’re bidding farewell today to Eric Case. Eric joined Google five years ago so that he could do something — anything — for Blogger. Since then, he’s answered support tickets, launched blogs, designed features, hung out with MC Hammer, eaten very slowly without drinking, and, for the past year, been our product manager, with all that that entails.

We’ll miss you, Eric! You made Blogger better. Good luck with your next endeavors, and we’ll be reading your blog.

— Pete, and the rest of the Blogger team (Permalink)

Not all we can remember, and not all we can notice for their helps; this is what Case have to say on his last post of his farewell announce on his personal blog:

Fred Brooks sums it up well:

Not only is the end not in sight, the pace is not slackening. We have many future joys.

As do Stewart Brand and Steve Jobs, as my Mom thinks I’m crazy for leaving one of the best companies the world has ever seen:

Stay hungry, stay foolish.” (Link as on 4th April 2008)

This people like him inspires me, the help that we can’t technically see and witness by our own wonder eyes, and how we neglected to say thank you to them are so unreachable too. For I he don’t know, for I don’t know him, but by his deeds, I wish to thank and for this I let everyone to witness his awards from me. Especially to those Blogger user, you should appreciate him.
